Skills Swap, University of the Arts London | 2022

A series of children's illustrations depicting insects often considered ugly, disgusting, and neglected. The characters include Willy the Wasp, Camillo the Worm, Morris the Mosquito, Larry the Leech, Greta the Shield Bug, and Molly the Maggot. I created these illustrations to mark the launch of the University of the Arts London (UAL) Skills Swap online platform for the Graduate Support page.

Commissioner: UAL Graduate Support
Type of project: Collaborative
Brief: Work on a collaborative project within a few weeks to be published on a new platform and presented to UAL students and graduates, highlighting the importance of collaboration in the creative industry.

Skills Swap is an online platform where UAL graduates can share their skills with others and seek support. I collaborated on this project with Filippa Wollbeck, a BA Product & Industrial Design graduate from Central Saint Martins (CSM), and Matthew O'Donnell, a BA Sound Art alumnus from London College of Communication (LCC). The main aim of the project is to change the perception of these insects by giving them names and making them lovable and recognizable to children. The goal is to inform people of all ages about the important role these small creatures play in our ecosystem and to encourage their preservation.
